The Centre has a 6 week rotating menu that is altered throughout the year to reflect seasonal changes.

Children are provided with three meals throughout the day, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Morning tea comprises of fruit which is served with raisin toast or savoury biscuits. Both milk and water are available.

Lunch consists of two courses served with water. The following is an overview of some of the meals on offer

  • Shepherd’s Pie with Fruit and Yogurt
  • Tuna Mornay and Rice with Fruit Salad
  • Honey and Soy Chicken with Apple Crumble and Yogurt
  • Mince and Vegetable Pasta Bake with Banana Custard
  • Chicken Risotto with Apple pudding and Yogurt
  • Salmon Pennine with Fruit and Custard

Afternoon tea comprises of fruit and is served with one of the following, pita bread and dip, various cakes, savoury scones, fruit muffins, cheese and biscuits or muesli slices. Milk and water are both available.

All meals are prepared at the Centre on a daily basis, by cooks who hold current training in food safety practises and food hygiene. Recipes are adapted or different meals made, when necessary, to cater for children’s allergies, intolerances and dietary needs.

The Centre’s menu is reviewed and evaluated annually in consultation with the Director, cook, room staff and Centre families.
